Phone keeps disconnecting from wifi please help!

I posted this before but I went unresolved and I need a permanent fix
so
I have a Moto Z. It WILL NOT connect to my wifi through the password, it keeps saying "authentication error" even if the password is right. I can connect by hitting the WPS push button but it keeps disconnecting so I keep having to push the button again. PLEASE help this is so annoying. Yes I've already tried rebooting the router and the phone, multiple times.

Your phone WiFI connection disconnects frequently because of the poor signal strength of the router or something has gone wrong with the WiFi hardware of your device. If you're connectin your mobile to public hotspot, get into the radius of the hotspot or ask the router owner to increase signal strength.
