Phone keypad works fine to dial a number but if I need to put in an access

Phone keypad works fine to dial a number but if I need to put in an access number for a conference call after dialing - it adds a number to the access code but doesn't show the incorrect number on the screen; it shows the correct number. I have Samsung GS5.
