Phone Keypad

I really like this phone, if I could just get past a few issues I would have it made. I don't think I have the phone keypad set up correctly. It will always show the last call made or received when I open up the dialer. I would like for it to show me nothing no last call received or made. Can this be done. I am wanting it to appear as my iphone 5 did. So I would have to go into calls received.

Naw. Can't change it. Although, you can use one of the many dialer skins that's in the market like dialer one.

I don't see anything in the settings that would make it behave that way. I can restart the phone and it will still just take me straight to the dialer.

If you press and hold on the fields where it says Call History, Phone, etc. ( or just Menu> Edit Tabs), you will see the options below. You might try rearranging the order to see if that works for you. Or unchecking the items you don't want to be shown.

You might also have the Smart Dial keypad enabled. It will show the last dialed/received/missed call in addition to the dialer.

I was wondering about that, too, actually. I do like how Smart Dial keypad works, but I do not want the last call to be displayed on the top either, just like how it was on the Galaxy SIII (smart dial + no last number). I'm guessing a theme would probably do the trick.

Thanks for the help. I think I got it smart dailer was hidden in the settings not shown. Now it is working like I want. Been an iphone user way to long.

To be honest Smart Dial makes it a whole lot easier for me to dial contacts without having to search for them in the directory or in the call history, and that is why I don't want to disable it. On the Samsung you would get Smart Dial and at the same time no last call shown above the keypad.

sorry for reviving multiple threads...

has anyone figured this out? it's one of the few things that really bothers me about this phone. when i press the phone icon, i want to see my call history first. i have moved the tabs around. but no matter what order i arrange them in, the phone keypad always comes up first. annoy!

I installed exdialer from play store ,free app ,and much much better than stock one.

After the initial impression and awkward feeling about it, I've found the the Smart Dial is truly great. With it I haven't had the need to go to my call history, except if I'm trying to see when was the last time I received a call or called a specific contact.

For dialing, it's faster to start typing the numbers that correspond to the contact. I'm really accustomed to this after one month with the One

thanks guys. i guess there is no way to make the call history window come up first. i am conditioned to blackberry where i simply hit the phone button and could see my history immediately. from there, i could highlight and call the people i talk to the most. much faster than opening smart dial and dialing through my contacts etc. but swiping one window over ain't too bad. i shall adapt.
