Phone mount for softer-leather like dashboards

Can anyone recommend a phone holder for the Note 8 for cars with softer leather type of dashboard? I had an IOttie suction cup and for the life of me couldn't get the disk to adhere. I'd rather have a dash mount Vs windshield mount and don't like vent mounts.

You can either use an adhesive disk to stick on the dash, get a vent mount or go to https://www.proclipusa.com and get one of their trim mounts.
