Phone not charging at all.

My Nexus 5 is not charging with any cables/adapters. I believe it might be a hardware issue.

Just few questions.
1. If my phone battery is defective, will it stop the charging in the phone?
2. If it's just the USB port or some ribbons inside, will it be a cheap repair?

Right now my phone is totally dead (0%). Cant open anymore

Thanks for replying. After more than 4 years this only occurred for first time. I might have to bring this to repair shop.

Went to repair shop and just what I thought, it was hardware issue.

the guy replaced this part from my phone and now the charging works fine.

How much$ - Did cost the repair is impressive isn't it
the size and circuits of that part. Hope works ok

It was $25. Im fine with it since i dont have phone tools to open all those small things and I couldnt wait for delivery for that part. Right now everything is back to normal.
