phone not ringing

Ok this is probably something simple that I have overlooked, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. All of a sudden my phone doesn't ring...it seems to go straight to voice mail. I had a volume control app which I thought might be causing the problem so I uninstalled it. I call my phone from my home line, I hear the voicemail kick in but the phone did not ring. I use Better Youmail, but I do not see anything in the settings that would cause the phone to appear to be on silent and go to voicemail. I've checked everything I know to check ...any suggestions? If your phone's forwarding is messed up (either for YouMail or any other service), then the calls would not ring. You need to disable call forwarding altogether (*73 on Verizon, I believe), and see if that helps. Then re-enable the conditional forwarding to YouMail
