Phone not sleeping?

My up time and awake time are always the same. I did a factory reset on this phone and it did correct the problem, but after a couple days of use the problem is back again. The phone does not sleep.

Anyone know if it's a setting issue or an app that is causing this?

I even tried not installing any apps after a factory reset. Phone would sleep, but again after a couple of days it would not sleep again.

PLEASE help.

If you have facebook and don't have the newest updates, that was known to cause a similar problem.

The other option is some rogue app you've installed is preventing the phone from sleeping.

Where do you guys actually see in spare parts what is using the battery? Under the area that shows how many times the app was launched where is shows MS time used or whatever?

I see this also. Its back and forth. One day I get 30hrs, next day I get 8.
i saw Astro locked open already, Speedtest.net app locked open and some other things,

Im positive its all app related.

I am sure this is a software issue. The problem is, only Google maps and google places are installed. NOTHING else. Why does this occur even after a reset.

I do not use facebook. Widgets are all removed. The only widget is the included google calender.

What is going on? Why does the phone not sleep?

+2 install spare parts and it will give you a much better look at what exactly is eating the battery...

I had the same problem and installed spare parts.... It showed me some rouge Android program was eating up the battery.... It wasn't an App from the store.. I had to do a full factory reset and it cleared up and have not had it happen again... At least with Spare Parts you will be able to pinpoint (hopefully) the rouge program and if it's a repeat offender you can go to Sprint or Google and see what they can offer for a fix.....

Im positive its all app related.

Click on Spare Parts and then Battery History... Once in Battery history you can click on a few different things... Partial wake usage is a big one.. Even when the phone screen is off it's still partially awake and that is the one that will show you what is eating up the most battery when the phone is idle... CPU usage is another good one to look at....

It puts it in order of most used down to least used.... the more blue in the box the more battery it's using.... Typically each program should have just a little bit of blue.... If the block is ALL THE WAY BLUE or half way that is probably your rouge program....

What everyone else said. Check partial wake usage. This app also will show it. I think it's basically just the battery info that spare parts shows with nothing else:

Android - Some blue. Very little blue.
UID 10059 - Some blue. Even less blue.
Internet - Very very little blue.
etc, etc.

Under other usage
Running - 100%
Screen - 18.01%
Phone - 0.1%

I don't see anything... the only thing is is 'running' suppose to be 100%?

When I see my partial wake locks, it always shows Android System. So this to me really means nothing. Could really be anything.


I use this frequently to see there is a problem, but normally just guess to what it can be when I see this and think back as to what changed since the problem started.

No clue my friend... Under other usage my phone reads 14% for running screen on is 9% and Phone on is 1% (actually 0.9%)

Why my phone was eating up battery like crazy Android was about 75% blue in partial wake usage.... a factory reset fixed it.... I went basically a month with no problems from launch day and then all of a sudden it was dying in less than 5 hours with no use... I charged it all the way up to 100% unplugged the phone went to bed and in the morning it was flat dead.. Wouldn't even turn on....

Only other thing I can think of is going into the bootloader menu and clearing all information that way... But you will have to get some one else to explain how to get to that menu.... I forget but I think you power your phone off and then hold the power and volume down button at the same time and you get another menu instead of the phone booting up and you can clear out that way too...
