Phone not waking up?

Hello,
Not quite sure if this is the right place for this thread, but here it goes.
About a week ago I took my phone out of my pocket and attempted to unlock it, but it wouldn't go to the lock screen.
It still wouldn't wake after several attempts of unlocking so I had to result in removing the battery then replacing it.
I thought nothing of this as this was the only time it happened, but it happened again today.
This may have been because of heat as when it first happened and today it was very hot and it would have been cooking in my pocket.
My phone still works but I am just worried that it could lead to it not being able to turn it on all together.
I would really like to know what is going on with my phone and if my phone is broken or not.
Thanks, Jem

Yeah I will soon be getting a new case for my phone because the one I have now is a cheap one from ebay.
However After it happened I did take my phone out of my case and it seemed to cool down after about 10 minutes.
I just hope that my next case will be good for airflow.
Thanks for your reply.

Just in case, I'd suggest making a backup of anything important to your SDCard or the cloud; sync all of your Google content; etc. That way if something does happen you're not left out in the cold.

Unless you have a runaway process, or are in a weak signal area where there's a lot of power being used by the radios trying to maintain a signal, I can't imagine why the phone would be getting warm just sitting in your pocket - it should be in sleep or deep sleep (unless you're streaming music or using bluetooth to talk, etc).

Thanks for your reply.
In future I will leave my phone when it crashes like this.
I tried something when it crashed the other day. after it crashed I rang my phone from another phone, it rang on the other phone but no light came on and no ringtone sounded.
Still not sure what this is but I hope I find a fix soon.
Thanks again :-)
