Android Central Question

My Android phone (Galaxy S7) has been heating up during normal use, then automatically turning itself off. After turning off, it then turns itself on a minute or so later, heats up again, and turns itself off. This will continue until the battery is drained, unless I manually turn the phone off.

When the phone starts cold, it generally takes about five minutes of normal use to get hot enough to turn off.

What's going on, and is there a way to fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! If it happens in Safe Mode, I would suspect a failing battery. As belodion suggested, you probably have to bring it to a repair shop.
