Phone randomly restarts

When mine does the restart , in the morning I need my password to start again , my question is this, does this effect my alarms. I would hate to depend on a alarm that does go off because the restart needed my password

Someone posted about that in this thread that they in fact did miss an appointment due to the alarm not going off

Here's my post from Samsung forums

I am having the same issue . So it's a widespread issue it seems. I posted on Reddit someone else was having the same issue. I a fresh install, no restore from backup up. Seems to happen in the middle of the night. Auto restart isn't on. The phone is off waiting for me to put in my password showing the android P logo. It says phone rebooted, please enter password.

This is really annoying. It caused me to miss an appointment because my alarm didn't go off since phone was rebooted. Really bad problem. We need a solution. I was going to return my phone this week. Maybe it's software ?

Also, the safe mode thing isn't really helpful, since the issue is intermittent. Sometimes it will reboot over night, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it will be 2 days, and then it will reboot for the next 3 days in the night. What a ridiculous problem to have! My phone has minimal apps, like Whatsapp and some google apps added. I don't need safe mode to tell me there's something else going on here.

I also tested the Auto Optimize feature (Not Auto restart) by enabling and disabling, seems that the issue is not caused by this either. I've also wiped cache partition (which helped for 2 days) then it started again. So unsure that is related.

Im using a wireless charger in the middle of the night if that matters. I noticed another thread on this fourm for the same topic here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10/Random-restart/m-p/500236#M5330

It's may be an issue but I would hesitate calling it widespread. It's happening to a minority of phones that we know of compared to the total population of phones.

Just happened to me last night as well. My alarm is set for 5am, but I just so happened to wake up at 448a by a bright light and noticed it was my phone that restarted. Thankfully it was before my alarm. I wish I knew for sure if it affected alarms or not. This is definitely a serious issue. Also kinda strange it always happens overnight.

Disturbing.... haven't gotten it yet. Were you on wireless charging?

Yep I was fast charging wirelessly as I have done every night overnight since the s8 days. Never had it restart on me overnight till I got the s10+ on launch day. It has only happened twice that I've noticed since launch day. With most recent last night. Very random.

I don't believe it to be wireless charging related. My phone has rebooted just sitting on my bag or in my pocket. Happened twice yesterday. Today I woke up with phone on wireless charger and no reboot.

If this isn't widespread does it mean swapping my phone would fix this problem? This sounds software related to me . I don't want to swap my phone to find out I have the same problem on the new one
