My wifes phone has a bad speaker so they just sent her a new replacement. Do I have to do anything special about backing up the contacts or anything. I know the gmail stuff will import when I activate the new phone, but what about the contacts portion. Or do I have to use the vz backup assistant?

Thanks in advance.

I am new to android and no expert but I am getting a replacement phone later today and was advised to use Vz back up assistant. I already have it so it's pretty easy to do. I would imagine if you have some other kind of app for this you could use that but Vz's back up assist has always worked fine for me.

Google can actually import and backup the contacts in the phone. Thats wjat I have been using. I went through the thunderbomt and then this is my second charge. Just go in to the account settings and choose to sync the contacts. You will have them all for the next phone. Back up Assistant actuaally doubled my contacts and it is a pain to fix that online. I teied and when I finally checked the contacts to delete I was logg ed out because of time...lol. I found out that samsung auto joins your contacts so you don't have doubles. the thunderbolt didn't do this. Hope this helps!
