Phone Restarts itself!!!

Hi,
I installed the update to Android Version 4.2 in January and immediately started having major issues with my phone, the worst being that it would restart itself, mainly during phone calls. I took it to a Sprint store and they did a hard reset. That lasted about a week before the phone started restarting itself again...it even did it while I was on the phone with a prospective employer!! A few weeks ago I took it to a different Sprint store and they told me that the first Sprint store had done it wrong and what they were going to do was take my phone back to version 4.1.1 and not to install the update to 4.2. They did it for me and all I can say is that I am royally annoyed by the constant, and I mean constant invites to update my phone and then in the last week my phone has begun restarting itself again - in fact it has done it twice in the last hour and it only does it while I am on the phone.

If anyone knows what I should do (besides throwing the phone against the wall) please let me know. I absolutely love all the other things about the phone.

Given that the store was somehow able to revert back to 4.1.1 (didn't know it was possible without rooting), they've ruled out software issues. Unless you want to root, and try out a custom ROM, I'd suggest taking it back to the store and ask them to replace the phone.

Some folks are having this reboot issue since 4.2.x - Others (including me) seem to have been spared this misery.

Said it was a sprint device correct...it is a known issue on sprint devices with 4.1x and 4.2.1 they are "working.on imediate push to 4.2.2." But i couldnt.bare to wait esp with crappy data speeds left last week....

You only really have 2 options since its a software problem, NOT a hardware problem...

1. Flash a custom ROM
2. Wait for 4.2.2 and hope that they found the software bugs that cause the constant reboots.

After mine (on 4.2.1) rebooted 100x in less than a months time, I decided enough was enough and I flashed JB Sourcery. Not going to say that it is now perfect but it is 95% better.

My sprint gnex restarts about 5 - 10 throughout the day as well but, luckily, it never does it when i'm on a call or when it's charging

Called sprint to complain several times. Got about $50 total off my bill for the hassle but what I really want is to get out of my contract (w/o an ETF) and leave that darn company.

The 3g data coverage in San Diego is horrible and now the phone sucks.

The Sprint rep, last time i called, said that I can move to any new device like a tablet/netbook/hotspot/mifi and fulfill the months remaining in the contract agreement with a $15/month 300mb plan.....might take this option and switch to a new carrier
