Phone Ringtone goes off late

I have realised a few days ago that it takes over 5 second after the phone starts to ring for the Ringtone to go off.
It rings first for 5+ seconds silently, then ringtone goes off.
I have a custom ringtone.

It's annoying, cause when someone "Missed Call"s me, and the phone is in my pocket, I don't even realise he did.

Is anyone having the same problem as me?

I agree with the above post. Also, check your "custom ringtone" to see if it has any dead space before it starts to sound. If so, google "mp3 trim" and cut the dead space at the front.

Thanks for the help.
I checked the other thread, it talks about Ring lag (when does the phone receive the call).
The problem is, my phone is ringing, I am seeing my Caller ID and his picture and number, saying that he is calling, but it is only after 5 seconds that the Ringtone is going off.

I've checked the Ringtone, there is no dead space at the beginning.

Could it be because it's a large file?

Try using a stock ringtone, just a boring basic regular ringtone. See if you still get the same lag. That should point to if the ringtone is the problem or if the OS is the problem.

It seems like the problem isn't a bit from both the ringtone and the OS. Sometimes, there is nearly no lag (1 second), sometimes there's over 5 seconds (usually when the phone has been on for a long time and needs a restart).
However, standard ringtones also feel faster.

EDIT: I have trimmed my custom ringtone, and the lag seems shortened a bit.

That's just how it works in general since it calls the media from the sdcard and there is a slight lag. If your using a song from your music player than more than likely you set it for a ringtone through there which would basically start the song from the beginning including the akward silence.

Use Ringdroid from the market to trim those tones of yours but for more of an answer I would say include the app or method your using to set your own custom ringer.

the music player app will trim them as well, I've used it a few times to trip a song down for a ringtone
