Phone says fast charging but is super slow?

Hey guys

So I am charging my new Verizon lg v20 and I am using the charger that came with it. It says it is fast charging but estimated charge time is like almost 4 hours....

Anyone else having this issue or know what it could be?

Hmm that could possibly be it but feel like the note 7 and other Samsungs never needed that. Also just looking at how much the percentage is changing it doesn't seem to be very fast.

Lithium ion batteries don't need training.

Check if fast charging is turn on in settings. Because some phone come with fast charging of as default.

I had this happen. Just unplug and plug it back in.

When you plug the charger in, one of the notifications is fast charging. When fast charging, I'm pretty close to what the battery comparison article states. 88 minutes to 100%. I got 65 minutes from 53% to 100%.

If the phone is hot from use, it'll throttle the charge rate, and I think LG is pretty aggressive on this.

Are we sure the included charger is Quickcharge 3.0? I remember the G5's were shipping with Quickcharge 2.0 chargers, even though the phone was 3.0 ready.

Whether its 2.0 or 3.0 it doesn't change the total charge time by that much. I am using the G5 charger on mine and it charges pretty quick.

Are you using it while it's charging? That will slow down charging.

I couldn't find a setting for quick charge on my phone and it seems to be charging pretty slow, but I haven't put it down yet so that could be the issue.

Using the phone while charging it will definitely slow the charging speed down to a crawl.
