Is anyone else having this problem? It just started with my N6. I can cover the sensor with my finger and the screen goes off, while on a call. However when I put it up to my face the screen is on. This is becoming quite annoying.

Do you have a screen protector that covers the sensor? That could be interfering with it. Also, have someone else put the phone up to his/her face and see if it works. (My wife can't "press" capacitive elevator buttons - they don't "see" her fingers. The proximity detector might not be seeing your face.)

Are you right-eared or left-eared?

I do better when holding the phone to my left ear, presumably due to my own anatomy and the position of the sensor in the phone.

No screen protector, it always worked before. It just started not working. Its quite odd.

Left eared when on calls. It has always worked before. Now when I'm on calls I'm dismissing notifications. Lol ghost in the phone or something weird.

Im on my 3rd nexus 6 and i've had the same problem with all of them. motorola told me it's definitely a problem, sent me a new one and it does the same thing. It only works about 20% of the time OR after about 2 min into a call the screen will finally turn off. Theres no other phone I want so I'll probably just live with it.
