I've had my phone since Nov last year. Just purchased a new OEM battery a couple of weeks ago as the original battery's life was getting bad.

In the past week, about 50 percent of the time I take a picture my phone shuts down and won't start back up by pressing the power button. I have to take out the battery and put it back in. Anyone know what's going on?

Did it do this before you changed to the new battery? If you use the old battery (original), does it still do it?

I don't know how taking pictures would cause a problem and shut down the phone, but perhaps your new battery is a "fake" and can't handle higher current draws during camera operation (just guessing here). Where did you buy the battery and how much did you pay?

If it's not the battery, then it might be time to do a complete factory reset. Sometimes doing one every so often will get your phone back to it's clean state. If you do the factory reset, be sure to back up all your data first!

Did you get past this? I have been having the exact same issue with my Nexus 5 with my old battery, replaced the battery and still the same. I was on 5.1.1 and then went back to 5.0.1 but still happening, I don't know if its Lollipop. Done lots of factory resets and removed all my apps.

Mine just started doing this and gets stuck in constant rebooting until I remove the battery. Any fix guys?

Well since I switched to saving photos to device memory instead of the mini SD card, all has been OK.

The problem can be solved if you switch your photo storage to phone. saving the photo to sd card may cause this

I have this issue on my Nexus 6P but also it will turn off for no apparent reason at any Battery percentage of level and I'm not the only one with this issue.

My Phone also did this. I purchased new batteries, and it solved the problem. I am a big Anker battery fan, and thats what I use. If you bought your battery from ebay, maybe it was a fake. Just my 2 cents.
