Phone Shuts down when under 20% left

I know there are other threads, but my problem only happens when I get down to under 20% of batt life left. If I'm on a call or doing something, it just shuts down. I turn it back on and there is still 10 or 15% left. WTH!?!!?

Anyone else have this issue?

Yea i do, between like 9%-16%

Did you do a soft restart (reboot)? I've heard that sometimes makes your phone display lower battery %. You should try powering down the phone and removing the battery. Put it back in and power up the phone. Let it run all the way down below 5% until it shuts off. Then fully recharge it with it off. That is supposed to recalibrate the phone's battery status.

Ive tried that. Didnt work. I figure its just my ROM

I've had this happen to me too. I switched to midnightrom 5.1 EXT journal ON and it no longer happens.

I have three Epic batteries: the OEM stock batt that came with, and two aftermarket batteries off ebay. The battery indicator displays 100 down to 1 (sometimes even 0) for the OEM and one of the aftermarkets. The other aftermarket cuts out at 25% precisely.

I'm thinking it's a defective battery
