My has been slowing down a lil bit the last couple of weeks. I deleted excess files, old apps. Cleared app cache. Not sure what's going on. Anyone have any ideas I can try?

Thanks, I was able to do safe mode. But it reset all of my widgets. I had a couple of sticky notes with tons of info on them and it's all gone. Anyway to restore my info?

Safe mode didn't allow me to access any apps other than the stock apps that came with the phone, so I was unable to determine since I really noticed on some additional apps, facebook for example was one.

The widgets and other information should come back when you reboot back in to normal mode. The reason I suggested booting into Safe Mode was to see if everything still slowed down. If it isn't slowing down, then one or more of the apps you installed is causing the problem. The challenging thing now is to determine which one -- sometimes you just have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away.

My notes never came back. I had removed all the recently installed apps earlier.

I read somewhere about system and app cache causing slow downs. Is that something else I should look into? If not then I'll start deleting apps.

That's odd -- the notes and widget information shouldn't have gone away after booting back into normal mode -- you did reboot into normal mode, right?

Wiping the system cache partition can be a useful general step, but the problem with LG phones is that the user can't access the Recovery Menu to wipe the cache. Wiping the app caches might help if there's some bad cached data somewhere, but in general, it won't help with major slowdowns. You can clear all cached app data by going to Settings>Storage, tapping Cached Data, and agreeing to clear all app caches.

Yes, I rebooted into normal mode. Also, the smart lock feature no longer worked with my bt devices and saved places. I had to remove them and then add them back for my smart lock to work again. I think I did all app cache, but I'll check again and see, need be, I'll do it again.
