I'm having problems with being able to hear calls when I put the phone to my ear.

Speaker phone and Bluetooth works.

I tried doing a full reset with no luck.

Yes. Movies are and music play fine on it.

Strangest thing. Started after the update.

I know you did a factory reset, but just to be sure, see if the problem happens in Safe Mode as well: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139?hl=en. If the problem is due to some app that was automatically reinstalled after the reset, then Safe Mode should make the problem go away temporarily.
