Phone stuck on private number, now can't change back to Show caller ID!

I turned off caller ID to make a work call from my phone, now I can't change it back. The more setting page will take forever to load and I eventually get the error message "Failed to read data - Network or SIM card error. Any help massively appreciated - no one is picking up their phone when I call! :'(

Are u on jio? If so call up cc and ask them to refresh ur acc. only then this issue will get resolved. I did the same thing and activated call barring and from then no incoming calls were coming. Even changing the sim didn't help I finally escalated to Mukesh Ambani and someone called Prathmesh called up. For 3 hours they could not solve it and then did a account refresh and it worked fine. Even if ur aren't on jio this a network operator issue so only an account refresh can help.

A defective SIM card can also cause OP's issue.
