Phone Stuck on Upgrading Android

I'm on Sprint. This morning I got the latest security update. It took a while to update. It was not too big. I think 344MB. After it installed, the screen went to the part where it optimizes the apps. That is where it got stuck. The phone will not turn off. I will not do anything. It just keeps saying that it is upgrading android. At the time of writing this, it has been stuck over an hour. Any advice?

Is it giving you a count of apps it's updating - x of y sort of thing? If so, let it keep running (watch the battery level) until it completes.

If not, try to find a Sprint company store (most of them are individually owned franchises, and all they're interested in doing is selling), bring the phone to them, still "updating", and ask for help. If you have to, bring it into any Sprint store. It's their update, it's their liability.

I just got back from the Sprint Store. They were able to do a soft reset. I tried to do a soft reset before posting on here, but for some reason it would not work. Maybe I should have taken the case off the phone first. lol. It is back to normal now.
