phone vibrates when muted

Where is the setting to stop the phone from vibrating when muted? It buzzes twice when I get emails in the middle of the night etc...annoying!

This isn't a direct answer, but have you tried scheduling Do Not Disturb to turn on during your sleep hours?

have you looked in your dropdown panel. in mine I have a sound area. whatever it says, if it says Mute, as mine does, I can tap that and change it to either Sound or Vibrate. yours likely says Vibrate so tap it and you can see the other options.

How are you trying to go into silent?
Using the button,toggle, slider?

I actually wouldn't consider Do Not Disturb a difficult way to achieve what you want to do. You can customize what happens when you turn on Do Not Disturb (e.g., you can still select Alarms or Media to make sound, and also set up exceptions to the rule), after which a simple toggle turns it on and off.

You just toggle the sound button to Mute. You are probably just using the volume down button to turn down the ring volume and not actually putting the whole device on Mute.
