Phone will not start up.

I am running the newest Codename 1.5.5. I have hybrid radios flashed. I haven't been having any problems until this afternoon. I downloaded the Discover Credit card app. I had to reboot my phone and now it just hangs on the start-up screen and the phone won't start up. When I try to get to the clockworkmod recovery using the volume down and power, the only option i can get to is the Start and it says "Downloading....Do not turn off target." I tried to cycle thru the options by using volume buttons but nothing happens. Anyone know whats going on with the phone?

I'm not sure if you typed it wrong, or your doing it wrong, but to get into recovery, pull you battery, replace it, then hold down both the up and down volume keys while pressing the power button (you said you were holding only the down volume and power buttons).

No idea what you did there... Can you get to the bootloader (pull battery, replace it, Vol up + down + power until you see the bootloader screen)? From there you should be able to scroll to recovery and enter it.

Once in recovery you've got options... you could try clearing the cache and dalvik and rebooting, might just work. If it doesn't you can go back into recovery and probably will have to just do a full wipe and reflash the ROM.

Had you been messing with voltages at all, or any other settings with "Set at Boot" options?

I was doing it wrong. I thought it was only the volume down. Thanks for that. Well I wiped the cache and the dalvik and that didnt work. I ended up factory resetting the phone and that worked. Thanks for the help!

Glad you got it back. If it was my phone, now that you've got the recovery part figured out, I'd go ahead and install that Discover Card app again, just to better understand if the app itself is screwed up, or maybe it was a corrupted installation. If it messes up your phone again, reset everything, reflash your ROM and try to let the app developer know what happened (with a good description of your device and the ROM your running). You can usually click on a "visit the developers web site" link from you PC's browser (from the Market web site) and then find an email link. Leaving comments about stuff like this in the apps rating section does no one any good, as the developer cannot respond to those comments.
