I set my camera to save video in HVEC but no matter what resolution I try all my videos come out as mp4s. My photos save as high efficiency. I've tried clearing data and cache on the camera ap as well as resetting all the camera settings. Anyone else run into this?

HEVC is a codec. MP4 is a file format. You can record HEVC-encoded video (H.265) in an MP4 (actually MPEG 4 part 14) format. (It's usually saved in a file with the extension .hevc, but it's the codec that makes the difference in the quality of the video, not the file format.)

Ah good to know. Since I was seeing the file extension for the pictures was HEIC I thought I'd see the HEVC extension for videos. Is there any way to confirm the setting to use HEVC is working?

Never mind. I just took two 5 second videos. One came out to be 11MB and one was 20MB. So I guess that's that.
