Long story short...A week ago I tried to manually update with the LG updater tool for the PC, and my phone wouldn't boot past the LG logo. So I went to sprint, and they wiped the phone and gave it back to me (version VC) and I had to reload everything. I had used the Z4 root, but I unrooted it before trying the update, and it looked like everything was fine, right until the phone rebooted from the update.

Fast forward to yesterday, when my phone shut off because I didn't have a recharger available all day. I came home last night, plugged it in, and went to bed. When I woke up this morning, I had the same problem, it was stuck on the LG logo and it wouldn't boot any farther. I went back to sprint, and they replaced it.

Bad news, I'm out a Zagg screen protector. Good news, I got a V9 phone, so I shouldn't have any more problems. I'm torn between leaving it V9 and rooting for the gingerbread mod. I'm still a newbie on android, so I'm not too sure of myself, and somehow I think I may have caused all of the trouble on first phone somehow. Anyone else have anything similar in there update experiences?

If you do root it do not take the update. There are a few ways to stop the update. Or you can apply the update with the LG tool and then revert back to V9 and root and you will have the VC radio that comes with the update. To many choices I know. Trust me you want the GingerBread mod, if not now then within the next few builds. I have been using it as my daily rom since #16 was released :)
