PhoneArena's battery life results for the Nexus 6

A review that compares battery life can be trusted. Even if the test is flawed, the results are still valid because it compares phones. It's like using a bad scale to measure weight, you can' trust the number but you can trust it to tell if one person is heavier than another.

And the battery life is exactly as I expected and predicted, not as good as Note 4/Turbo.

That does make sense, however they ranked the M8 above the Iphone 6 plus. From my experience that's totally wrong. The M8 is nowhere near the 6 Plus form the way I've used both phones.

As I mentioned in my previous post, it all needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I'm using a 6+ right now and this thing has some of the best battery life I've ever seen, yet it didn't score so hot in their test. The Nexus 6 beat the 6+ in their tests so that means if I use my own experience with the 6+ as a baseline, I should see great life on the Nexus 6 as well.

All about the baselines and comparisons.

Someone mentioned earlier that their test may not run in the same manner on IOS vs. Android, and that could be the reason the Iphone scored so low. I'm really hoping the Nexus 6 actually does better than the 6 plus, but I agree that the test should be taken with a grain of salt.

Am I the only one who doesn't want the turbo battery? Yes, it's a lot of juice but it makes the phone too chunky. I prefer the slim form factor over a chunky phone.

I think they did this battery check on the review unit before final software. Phil said there was an embargo right now. He also said the Nexus 9 just got final software on Sunday so I don’t think what we see here is with the final version of Lollipop on the Nexus 6.

3 hours more than the 8 the Nexus got. About 40% longer life........

If more battery tests show confirm this difference I will have to go Turbo. Watch a movie on an airplane along with the fact that I burn battery much faster when traveling might leave me with a dead 6 when on the road.

If that's how it goes, at least I won't have to wait for over a month for a new phone since a VZW rep said the 6 is NOT on their "coming soon" list, which generally is accurate to about 30 days.

You're not alone. The Turbo has a nice-sized battery but I like the look of the Nexus 6 better, and don't mind the size. Having a bigger battery is not enough for me to want a Turbo over the Nexus 6. The 3200 mAH is enough for me.

Where you flying to?? Most domestic flights in the US are no more than 5 hours.... Plus you could always use the turbo charger to boost you up a little bit... land and sit down for 15 minutes and boost it up...

LOL!!! to each his own my friend... 8 hours of non-stop video play back is plenty enough for my real world use.... 11 hours is just pure over kill...... My head and eyes would be killing me after the 8 let alone the 11..... That being said would have been nice while they were at it to just throw the 3900 battery into the Nexus 6 too.... might as well.. They couldn't have been trying save any weight building the 6 as is.... :D

Also, JMHO, but I would think you could get one of those portable chargers to keep it topped of on the plane ride and beyond while you are traveling. Also, I know if I had to watch a movie I would rather it be on a 6" screen. Again just my humble opinion...

When you get to be my age (old enough to not use Facebook/Twitter /heavy gaming, etc), my phone is mainly a browsing device, with movies and reading added when I travel. I don't want to be bothered carrying either a spare battery or a charger on the road, which is what did before my Maxx experience. I've had the Maxx near death by dinner while travelling, and that's why I need to see the comparisons to the N when they come out (tomorrow?). Phone Arena shows a 30% greater life (7:50 vs 10:40), and that's with the Turbo running KitKat. I trust the folks here who question PA's testing, which is why I await other reports.

I really do want to try the N. That's why I haven't gotten the Turbo yet. My frustration is that it's coming out everywhere BUT VZW, and I'm getting tired of waiting. I've had the upgrade available for 2 months, and my current phone is showing its age. Even after a reset, it's frustratingly slow opening apps, browsing etc. Heck, I've had to wait 30 seconds for calls to start ringing:-[

Just watch review on android authority and said the battery doesn't seem very good..
