Phones and x-ray machines

I'm going to be flying in the next few weeks. When a phone goes through the x-ray machine at security, does that do any harm to the media on the microSD card, or to the phone itself?

I'm sure it will be just fine. Thousands of people pass through them daily and the nightly news hasn't featured this problem as epidemic. I've also gone through security at Court Houses and the phone, sd card are just fine.

But still, backup the sd card just in case
