Phones speaker acting up

So my galaxy note 2 got a little wet. Nothing like a full bath. But i was using it in the rain. I'm sure some water got in because it was acting up a bit. Like my volume would constantly go down even when I put it back up. but all that has gone away. Only thing that's stuck is my phone will make sounds when I put up the volume. Play sounds for notifications. But when I go to play music or play YouTube no sounds will come out even on full volume. I know the speaker still works since it still makes the sounds. But I'm curious as why It won't play songs or YouTube videos anymore even when the progress bar on both continue to go.

Well, the phone isn't "acting up", you let it get wet and those are the consequences. Turn off your phone, remove the battery, and leave it in a bowl of rice for at least 48 hours. That might fix it.
