I noticed when i take a pic or video an then go back to watch or see the picture the screen will be bright but then starts dimming down. Is there a setting to stop that? Im sure its to save battery but its annoying.

You can use quickpic, free on Google play and in the settings is the option to view pics and videos at full brightness. When you exit the app, screen will go back to normal setting that you have the brightened brightness at..

So i would have to resort to an app from the play store just to get rid of the dimming issue?

Even without the dimming issue quick pic is a superior gallery.

I dont really want to have to get an app for the issue. I did take a look at it on the play store an it looks good but if i can avoid it i will.

Heres a question, since im using sense software (non-rooted), would this dimming issue dissapear if rooted to GPE 4.3?

Can anyone confirm this if your One is rooted?

If I'm understanding you right:

The camera app, by design, bypasses your auto-brightness setting, so therefore when you take a picture, your camera is brighter, then of course when you exit out of the camera, it defaults back to auto-brightness. I could be wrong, but I think that's what's happening.

When i take a pic yes the screen goes bright an once im done i go into gallery to view it an then the screen dims down. My auto brightness is disabled an my brightness is almost all the way to zero. Im new to all of this so please excuse my lack of knowledge within Sense 5

So regardless the phones brightness the camera will over ride it an make the screen brighter and once im out of the actual camera an go into the gallery it goes back to what my phones brightness was set at again? If thats the case i wish it would stay bright in the gallery as well, just like the camera.

You can install a program called Tasker and set it to Max the screen brightness when opening the gallery. I just checked it and it does work.
