Hi All. So when I connect my phone to my windows pc and browse my camera roll, everything I've ever taken with my pixel just has an icon of my photo viewer so it is very hard to take off particular photos I want to download. Everything I took before the pixel on my old samsung phone does show a picture preview.

Does anyone know why and how to fix this?
Thanks.

Does this persist even if you change the view in Windows File Explorer? Try choosing the medium or large tile view.

When you connect, are you choosing the MTP option for USB connection?

The options I get are File transfer, usb tethering, MIDI, PTP. I chose file transfer.

Hmm, that should be the one. Are you certain you're looking at the actual image files and not folders? Pixels (and maybe other phones, I'm not sure) create folders for certain images -- I think these are for photos that have been edited using Google Photos. There can be a lot of folders (that are empty) that build up, so that you have to scroll down a bit to get to the actual photo files.

That's always been that way. Every pixel I've owned did that. Its a google thing.
