Photos taken with the S10 or S10+ thread.

Getting to spend some time with the camera. I get what people are talking about. Over processing, smoothing. They're still good, but I see it now.

This is Desmond. A little over a year old. You guys might see a lot of him.

Great subject! :)

I think I've solved my complaints with contrast and color accuracy by using pro-mode as a point and shoot but with pre-sets changed. However, the smoothing seems unnecessary. I haven't figured out how to cure that yet!

It’s over aggressive noise reduction that’s smearing away the fine details.
Really about the only way is to make the photographs in raw and process them yourself.

My guess is that Samsung banked everything on low light performance and dynamic range at the expense of the overall experience. The smoothing cuts out some of that low light noise. Since so many cameras are on par with each other the reviewers all seem to focus on these areas and I think they bet the farm on it. I don't know enough about it, but that's my guess.

You're right, but most people taking snapshots on cellphones aren't going to spend time doing that.

I want to see photos of indoor situations perhaps of people moving, taken with the S10's camera app, because I know that's this phone's weakness!

So, got out a bit with the wife today for some antique shopping after lunch. I had some fun between Samsung's camera and Google's camera. Color reproduction is flat out better on Gcam, from my very limited time with the device. But, I'm actually getting more detail in Samsung camera. I'm guessing Samsung's camera just has issues smoothing pet hair and Google's is obviously better in low light. Apart from that, I think I'm pleased with Samsung camera app.

Point and shoot. No editing. First photo is Samsung's camera and the second is Google's app.

I'd like to see the same. This issue is what always causes me to return my Samsung devices.

Took this photo during my daily morning pier run. Loving the ultra wide camera lens.

I finally had a chance to really test out the camera. I'm really pleased with how all of my pictures turned out. I'd say that the colors are an accurate representation of real life. I was able to capture the movement of the ocean and the small drops of dew on the flowers. Very happy indeed!
