Photos taken with the S7/S7 Edge

Hi, all! First post here. Took this on a cloudy day, liked how it captured the motion in Auto mode

@ChrisR:

i went through the identical thinking process you did, and ended up with this one:

SanDisk 200GB Ultra UHS-I microSDXC Memory SDSDQUAN-200G-A4A B&H

my reason is that nowhere does it say exactly up to which protocol the S7/S7 Edge are compatible with and can take advantage of! that's ridiculous. who wouldn't put out specs? you know who? those who have devices which would NOT be compatible with the newest and latest protocols, so by obfuscating this detailed specification, they are able to not emphasize it and let the people out there to spread the "downsides of this phone" around.

i love this phone. still, do please tell us if it's UHS-I or UHS-II? After all, we paid ~$700 for it!

that said, we are at where we are, and we're not going to get any more info out of Samsung if they do not wish to disclose this. some eagle eyed testing guy would have to go in with the proper equipment and then let us know!

in the meantime...i decided that i'd opt for this particular version of Sandisk, as the lower capacity models of this same line has, oddly, LOWER SPEEDS, and lack the words "Premium Edition" on the packaging! of course, i understand like we all do that Premium Edition are merely marketing words, but still, if you read the fine print, this 200gb card is faster than the 128gb et al.

so, i ended up with this one which i thought would be the best current compromise given the information that is disclosed to us at this point in time.

I just had a chat with samsung. not sure if it's helpful or not. They pointed me to this;

Micro SD PRO+ 32GB Memory Card w/ Adapter

I took this last night with my S7 Edge at 70+ mph out the passenger window of the KC Royals stadium and was blown away with the results!

I was asked by one of my LG G4 pals how I liked the camera on the S7E. I hadn't taken many pics at that poiint, so I've been snapping a few just for sample's sake. May as well share them here, too.

Here are some that are unedited, shot with the Pro setting, with whatever the camera set (no adjustment by me):

I'd normally crop this one down, of course.

The room was darker than it appears (so we could see the TV). Late afternoon.

Low light. Dark outside, lamp across the room. I was ~4 feet away.

A couple from this morning...

The last one (coffee mug) is also low light. Overcast morning, shades closed, and objects not even in the "brighter" portion of the kitchen. Obviously no movemnt as a challenge, but with an edit would be a decent shot.

...I see that sideway post thing is still an issue. I know folks had the problem with the G4, but I was able to see when mine would do that, rotate them, and then upload them. In this case, the pics sidways here look right on my computer's desktop. What's the fix for this?

And two I edited a bit. Also shot in Pro without any adjustm,ent of settings:

Just a slight crop (with built in editor) for this one. That's it.

Used the built in editor functions to "brighten" her face and blur the background via the Portrait edits. I have usually used Snapseed most, and then Pixlr some, for my editing most recently. I miss being able to choose at the Edit command.

Low light. Night, lamp a few feet away. Cropped.

Those that have been able to capture some nice action shots are you using auto HDR or HDR off?

My dog taken today. Auto settings with fairly low light in the room. The colors on the blanket came out so nice. And I like that you can see so much detail in her fur.

After admiring all these S7 photos, I finally have a couple of my own to share :)
I know the dog picture was taken in Auto. Not sure if the flowers were Auto or Pro.
I didn't concern myself with remembering because I thought it would be listed in the picture "details"...it's not. Sorry
I'm including two of the dog pictures. The first is SOOC and the second one is with some slight white balance and
slight exposure compensation. Perfectly nice photo without being tweaked but I can't leave things alone :o
The flowers also had a bit of EC applied.
Well, trust me, you really can see a difference in the dog pictures. The only thing I can really detect once uploaded is the white balance. The original has more of a blue tone. The fixed photo has a warmer tone. You have to look hard to see the exposure compensation.
Also adding a 100% crop of (dog with tongue sticking out). Same shooting distance as the other photo of him. That's darn impressive for a camera phone!
