Nightshot is awesome.. These were taken at 9pm with very little moonlight. It was dark enough that I could not see everything down the street with my naked eye.

You should be able to get that with a D80 on tripod

I know... I was exaggerating Mike, I've got a 75-300 Zoom that I think, if I ever turn on my big PC down in my basement office (another thing I don't use since I got my SurfacePro) I could probably find a shot that I took via tripod with it (that might even be better)!

I thought I'd try a little zoom comparison myself after seeing others do it. Not a huge fan of digital zoom but the 50x I think is actually quite respectable. I don't know why I didn't try 10x which is supposed to be the sweet spot?
