Photos taken with your P20 Pro

The sun was shining very bright and this picture was taken without HDR enabled. Seems master AI can adjust pictures like this without manual HDR.

Some of the others from the sunrise walk the other day.

Ooh! Caddy Mk1?

Keep me updated with this please. Love Mk1 Golf's and Caddy's and I'm extremely jealous
Will do. It's going to be something special. The candy brown paint has gold flake in it and it doesn't really translate to photos well.
There will be GTI seats going into it once they are retrimmed.

This isn't a very interesting photo. But an example of how good night mode is compared to another flagship in low light.

Here's the shot from my P20.

This is the same shot on my iPhone X.

Night mode really is amazing.

Been messing with the P20 Pro for about a day. The following have been shot in full auto, 10 mp oversampled in the stock camera app, then edited slightly in lightroom. The edits in lightroom were applied straight to the jpeg, not raw.

I find that shooting in 40 mp leaves the jpeg less distorted. Huawei is like the Samsung of 4 years ago and goes crazy with the oversharpening in the 10 mp format (106 firmware). I'm still on 106 firmware, can't wait for the 121 update, supposedly that improves jpeg post processing?

My overall first impression is that it's a really good camera, but we are leaving a ton of photo quality on the table - the software isn't quite able to take full advantage of the lens kit just yet. Can't wait for the google camera port with its HDR.

These are gorgeous photos. Keep 'em coming!

OK I have an interesting comparison. Take a look at the following juxtapose - photo on left of slider is V30 shot with google camera HDR port. Photo on right of slider is P20 Pro native camera HDR mode (121a firmware). Both photos touched up lightly in lightroom with exactly the same config (boosted shadows and reined in highlights since there is a bright light behind both photos).

The P20 photo shows significantly less noise. In close up photos like this, I am happy with that. I'd worry about aggressive noise reduction on landscape shots or night shots where it crushes detail. But so far, in this round, the P20 Pro wins!

It would've been nice to get both pictures at the same time so I can't say which is better but I liked the V30 colors and closer angle better here personally. Both shots are great.

Yeah, couldn't help that. The V30 photo was taken at 6 PM and the P20 photo was taken at 8 AM, in different parts of the garage. Keep in mind though, the V30 photo was shot with gcam port, not the stock camera app. P20 was stock camera app.
