Photos taken with your P20 Pro

Yeah, couldn't help that. The V30 photo was taken at 6 PM and the P20 photo was taken at 8 AM, in different parts of the garage. Keep in mind though, the V30 photo was shot with gcam port, not the stock camera app. P20 was stock camera app.
Oh yeah that's true. That makes a huge difference as the stock app doesn't take pictures this well.

Agreed. The gcam port is what saved the V30 for me!
Have you dabbled into manual mode? That's where the magic is. I have the V20 so I know in auto you don't always get the best shots. But I love manual. Edit in Lightroom Mobile which has so many of the desktop features it's like using the real thing.

Good suggestion!

Yes, I have. LG's manual mode is the easiest in the business, love it. However, I find that gcam port will capture a better photo 95% of the time than I can on my own. The only time I now use manual mode is when shooting long exposure photos or doing something funky where I am going for a very specific look or composition.

Still true though. They just do so amazing with highlight and shadow preservation. Wish they'd at least add manual focus though.

Some more

Yeah, the DoF/bokeh on these lenses are really good. Best I have seen in a phone camera so far.
Photos are very good. So, more then 30 days P20 Pro is in sell. What are you think about camera? I still need more money to buy a new phone but I need to choose between S9+ vs P20 Pro. I know that 4K video dont have stabilization on P20 Pro but is video quality same like S9+? And what about photos? I use so much camera for photos and video. (But more photos) In my country S9+ is 650EUR and P20 Pro is 750EUR.

I don't have P20 Pro or S9+ to test it. Your answer will help me a lot.

I have had the S6 Edge, S7, S7+, Note 7 and Note 8 so I am familiar with Samsung sensors. I think the S9 sensor is largely the same and I would rate the P20P better than those.

However, keep in mind I never ever use the front camera (other than for face unlock) or shoot video, so I cannot tell you about those. I am a still photographer with the rear cameras only.

Tell me then about rear camera :) which one is better

I just told you I like the P20P better. There are also only about a million camera reviews on youtube that compare the S9 to the P20P, maybe you can do a 20 second youtube search?

I see every YT video about P20 Pro every day, but still is different when you ask someone who is photographer, who used S9+ and P20 Pro. On YT are just people who at end are not a photographers just heavy users.

Thx you so much one more time, and sorry for boring you.

P20-P rear sensor array is more versatile than S9. The zoom is better and gets closer (5x). The monochrome sensor adds a whole another dimension that the S9 doesn't offer. And the main lens is very good and better than Samsung's sensor at present. It also has further potential to be enhanced in future since the hardware is already there and the software post processing will only improve with firmware updates over time. There's a ton of potential with a 1/2.6 40 mp lens that the current processing is not fully taking advantage of. I bet when people figure out how to port google's HDR camera over, you'll see a remarkable leap in photo quality that comes out of the P20P. All said, even at present day, I think it's better than the S9.

I don't really care about the AI so can't offer any opinions there.

All in, P20P rear camera setup is superior to S9 in my view.

If you’re a “photographer” then you’ll be shooting mostly in raw and you should be asking about that IMHO.
For ”digital-snapping” just based on what I’ve seen on the various forums the P20P produces much better stills “right out of the box” so to speak. I’ve been singularly unimpressed with the posted photos from the S9+ (and the S9).
Video is a separate issue.
