Photos taken with your P20 Pro

Wow! Such amazing photos - all of them. Thanks to everyone posting them. I'm so jealous.

Just received my midnight blue P20 on Monday. Haven't really had time to play with the camera much but here's a quick shot of the church at the bottom of my street. Well impressed!

Not picking on your photos Mike but your photos are why im dumping this phone.

If you're having problems with pictures on the P20 then that's certainly your choice to dump it but don't take my photos as a testimonial on how good or bad pictures on this phone are. I'm by no means the best photographer and just do point and shoot. The are adequate for me and were "dummied down" to be able to comply with the forum size restrictions.

Took this picture in dawlish over the weekend ... Loved the colours and the p20 camera really seems to have pulled them out

I was hoping you could help with an issue that's been bothering me with this phone and my attempts to post good quality photos to Instagram.
I seem to be getting a lot of ring/arc noise straight out of the night mode, and even more with the pro mode.
The second photo of each bunch is a screenshot of the final photo if I edited it with Instagram and posted it. The only thing I did to the original file before I uploaded it to Instagram was resizing it to less than 1080 of wide with an app called jpeg optimizer, in order to escape the Instagram compression, but I can't seem to succeed.

Don’t know what you mean by “ring/arc noise”. Ringing (or halo) is not noise. It’s caused by oversharping.
The second photo of each group has a lot of banding on it. Caused by overcooking the jpg. The jpg files only have 8 bits of color to work with and banding happens when they are post processed too much.

Actually all 4 photos having some banding. The 2nd photo of each group has more pronounced banding.

Trying to get the bee in focus was a little hard, as he was moving quite a bit .. still not a bad shot I reckon
