Photos with grey areas

Do, every now and again I take a few pictures with my phone and they come out with this from box in the middle. But often in the gallery view, they don't have the box. Anyone know what causes this issue?

It's quite annoying sometimes, especially since the item I took a picture of us packed and I need to put it up for sale!

First photo is what I originally saw in the gallery view, the next ones are what happens if I zoom in, or select the photo.

Are you saving these photos to an SD card? That's what it looks like when jpeg file are corrupted some how, usually a bad sd card.

I agree with jlo. I had this same issue with an old Note 3 and it was due to a bad sd card. Bought a new sd card and all my pictures were good again.

I've had similar results in some photos. Deleted most of them and took them again.

No SD card in my phone. That's why I've deleted the photos.

Also, try and clear the cache of the Gallery app. Settings-App Manager-Gallery-Storage-Clear cache
