All cables and chargers were sourced off of the Benson spreadsheet.

USB-C wall charger

Solid quality look and feel and comes with a cable. Worked fine the first time (Rapid Charge). Second time I plugged it into an extension cord and saw a spark. Dead.
EDIT: Turns out it was the cheap cable that came with the charger that fried, not the charger which is working fine.

Car charger

Works. Rapid charge.

USB-A to USB-C
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5539606
Works fine.

6ft USB-C
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5539606
Works well. Rapid Charge.

Case

Case is one piece and feels very rugged. The cutouts and buttons are high precision. My only gripe is that the case is a little bulkier than I'd like.

Nathan K (who's cooperated with Benson some) described the cable that comes with that dodo charger as "iffy" and said he had to test it further, it's possible that was the culprit?

Honestly, with the scarcity of decent in-spec AC chargers right now, I'd just buy an extra one from Google... $35 isn't that bad considering it comes with a GOOD 6FT cable, said cable alone would run ya $15+ ($25 in your case since you went for a TB/3.1).

Only saving like $2-4 with a third party charger, if that... If the charger came with a decent cable it'd be a different story, but still. What I'd really like is a decent Type C+A dual port charger but that seems even more impossible to find right now.

Too bad the market is currently flooded with Qualcomm QC stuff, it's gonna slow down adoption of the actual (open) standard. I bought the same car charger and case btw, still waiting on my Pixel, grrr.

Funny you should mention that, I was about to update my post. The flash happened at work and when I went home last night I tried the charger with a different cable (one that I specifically ordered) and it worked. The cable that came with the charger is what fried lol.

Some of the pieces I wanted are out of stock at the Google store currently which I why I went through amazon. I live in Canada near the US border so I ship to the US and then drive across. It's easier if it all comes from one source.

No 56k resistor on the cables you listed in your original post? I thought that was something that Benson said we should be having

I'm not sure. I just know these cables were among his approved ones. They are working fine.

Just because it's not listed up and down that cable's title doesn't mean it doesn't have it, although the CableMatters listings and descriptions were a little different from what's on one of the popular spreadsheets (attributed to Benson but not maintained by him)...

Might be worth tracking down his original review either on G+ or his Amazon profile. All the A to C cables should have it, period, so not boasting about it isn't inherently cause for alarm. I had no need for extra A to C cables so haven't pored over as many of those reviews, which is largely what Benson initially tested.
