Picture recovery

I deleted my entire contents of my gallery by mistake. Anyone have any tips on how to recover my pics? I've tried the software recommended but can't seem to see my phone within the software. I could do this with no problem if my Nexus had a removable SD card.
It's a Nexus from Verizon if it makes any difference.

Do you know if you had instant upload enabled? Are you on Google+? If so then your pictures are there if not then I dont think there is a way to get them back.
