Pictures are still in internal storage

So I just bought the pixel 2 coming from the IPhone 6s, I absolutely love it. However, I transferred all my pictures through the cable which were about 24 thousand pics. I backed them up and deleted them from my internal storage. Yet somehow there is still about 15 gb of pictures in my internal storage on settings, even though i backed and deleted everything. How can I fix this?

You backed them up - to where? A computer? If you "backed them up to the Pixel 2", then what you're seeing is 15GB of backup.

(There's only internal storage on a Pixel 2, there's no other kind.)

Can you be more specific about what you backed up....from what to what.
