Hi guys!
I just bought this phone a few days ago and I feel like I did a big mistake!
Please take a look at the pictures. Is this normal for a 2014 phone? I simply can't take a picture at night...

Unless I turn the flash on, mine are pretty bad at night too

I get the same. I thought it was normal. Same settings as mentioned above.

Have you tired using the picture editing software that comes on the phone? Im addicted to editing using this software (sometimes purposely taking a bad picture so i can edit it).

Was zoomed in when i took this. I find the more i zoom (day or night),the more camera noise i get in the image.

These are the pics I took when we went to NYC last week. Default settings. They look okay.

Nice Pics. I think your pictures turned ok because you have multiple light sources all around you. Where as, my pic and poppy13's only had one or two light sources all coming from one particular direction. Will try and get some better night time pictures and upload the results later.

This may be a dumb question but should you expect to get great pictures at night with very little light?

What I have noticed is that the darker the place, the more steady you need to be in order for the picture not to have that much noise. Here is a picture I took on the first night I had my phone.....you can clearly see I wasn't steady, lol....

Edit: I think I also had HDR set to 'On' when I took this picture. Once I set it to 'auto', my low light pics started coming out better. Hope this helps some of you! :)

Agreed...the one thing you do need in photography, I've always found, is light. I've also noticed that there usually isn't much of it, at night.

I've also noticed some cases will block the flash or cause the pictures not to come out so good. I think it takes pretty good pictures for being a phone plus make sure the lens are clean before taking a picture, that helps a ton.
