Pictures dissapearing

So I tried the keep it simple stupid trick and just erase them individually in the gallery and they will not go away.

Gonna take the SD card out and put it in a computer and format it. Then put it back in the phone and see what that does. HTC at this point you suck.

Try clearing the data and cache for your camera and gallery (Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Camera, then Gallery -> "Clear Data" then "Clear Cache".

Tried both deleting the files and clearing the cache and just clearing the cache and the old files are still there. Gonna go buy a micro SD card adapter tomorrow to erase. I am in the middle of a household move to Hawaii so all of my stuff is on a boat. Kind of bad timing for me that the camera is not working.

This is so frustrating. So I use Astro to delete all of the files in Thumbnails, My Documents, and 100media and they all say they were deleted but then they come back. WTF

I mount the phone as a drive delete them there as well and then they all come back.

I unmount the SD card and then format and they are all still there.

I cannot find a way to wipe these old pic files off and start new.....

You make it sound like you are syncing your pictures with some online service that keeps showing up.

I have tried all of these tricks, photos are still under the 100 file in astro, but no reappearing under gallery.

The only thing that I even do in that respect is VZW back up manager. That would not immediately make the images re-appear.

You wouldnt happen to have an extra micro SD card laying around would you? My first thing to try would be another SD card to make sure your card didn't go bad.

Put a 4GB in and everything is working fine. Tried to do a quick format on a PC and it failed. Doing a full format now.

Does Verizon owe me a new 32GB SD card if it is bad? Phone is about a month old.

The SD card is bad. Could not format it any way. June 16th was the purchase date.

I would think the SD card would be part of the warranty, it came in the box. Not positive though.

why do I have to search for my photos when it should be there? I bought this phone because I thought it was the best but now I'm starting to think it was a mistake. My friend has the EVO with 2.3 and we won't see this for a few months. WTF?

If you're having the same problem, then you probably have a bad SD card as well. Get a new one, its not the end of the world.

I will update after a couple of days but seems to have fixed it. Now its time to argue with Verizon about a new card.

Verizon CS states that the SD card is warrantied for 5 years. Good to know. I am going by the store to pick the replacement up.

Oh this just gets better. Verizon transfered me to SanDisk (Indian operator BTW) which turned into a goatrope. I have to send my chip back to them before they will send me a new one. I am in Hawaii so this should take about 3-4 months before this gets cleared up.

To boot the incomprehensible operator just told me they are out of 32GB chips and I am just SOL.....Calling back VZW CS.

Well after calling VZW CS the could only offer me two 16GB cards or wait 2-3 months for the 32GB. I caved and was like whatever. After another 40 minutes on the phone waiting for them to find the store, locate two 16GB cards, and clear the authorization I was on my way to the store. Got to the store and they just gave me another 32 GB out of a TB box. Everything is working as it was before.
