Pictures Left

In the camera app it tells you how many pictures you can take. Right now it says 5513. If I lower the resolution the number goes up.

I have 11.38gb of free space on my sd card. 5513 seems a bit low.

what does yours say and how much free space do you have

when you go into settings and picture resolution you don't have widescreen? its the first setting on mine

ah, yes i'm trying to determine if its just bad at guestimating the remaining space or if that is really the limit i have. but thanks for the input

JPG compression is variable, if you look at the file sizes you'll see they're all different. Out of a check of 287 pictures on my computer from the X they range from 190k to 3.2MB with all the same resolution settings. With this variability it's always going to be a bit hard to balance between a conservative number and a realistic number. I'd rather have it tell me I've got 1000 shots left and really end up with room for 2500 than to have it tell me there's space for 100 and I run out of room in 20.
