Mini Review with pictures.
I previously had a Palm Pre + with a magnetic touchstone setup in my car. It was pimp...I just put the phone down on the stone and rolled out. I loved the phone and it's stone; things were good. But then...4Gs happened. It was time for an upgrade, and it wasn't long before my mind turned to the car solution for the beast that is the Thunderbolt.
Like the phone the car mount is beefy, and comes with the option of plastering it to your windshield by its industrial grade suction cup or using a supplied sticky disk which you can mount on pretty much any semi flat surface inside your car.
The mount itself is well built and will articulate to pretty much any position you put it in. Also it seems the thing has some sort of magnet or sensor thingie to put the Thunderbolt into car mode when you dock it. While this is a neat feature I have found it to be an inconsistent one. Sometimes it docks right and transforms the interface and sometimes it doesn't. Depends on how hard I push it.
Where I put it means I dont really need the auto interface so its no scratch off my back that it doesn't work. Some well placed widgets and Im good to go. I purposefully put it down low on the left so I could reach it easily and so it would be incognito and not leave a nasty "come break into my car" ring on the windshield.
