Pictures slowly disappearing from Phone gallery.

My wife recently noticed that several recent photos on her phone were missing. Over the course of several days more photos either disappeared or were corrupted.

I'm not sure if it's related but recently here phone screen starts to dim and flicker if charging or left alone for a little while.

Is there anything I can do to stop this apparent spread of corrupted data? I ran virus scanners and she is using only the internal memory, no extra SD card,

Irrespective of the reasons for your issue with disappearing photos, the first thing that you need to do is fully backup your wife's Galaxy S5 immediately to secure the data that is left. See, Backup! Backup! Backup! NOW!

The photos are being automatically backed up both via auto dropbox sync and verizon's cloud

Just a thought... is there a setting in either of those 2 apps that deletes the photos from the phone automatically after they are backed up to the cloud?

Not that I'm aware of. Several other photos can be found but are corrupted and don't display properly.
