Pictures Taken With Your Evo!

That's an awesome pic but I'm not sure I would want to live next to it..lol.

Lol. My grandpas house backs up to the tennessee river and the cooling tower is also on the river, but it is a couple of miles away.

Best backyard in the world, until you have to mow it. Lol

Nuclear cooling tower by my grandpas house.

I just wanted to mention that not every one of those cooling towers is there because of a nuclear power plant. Thanks to the Simpsons, everyone thinks that it is.

Any fossil (coal, oil, gas) power plant that is not on a river or by the ocean will have cooling towers like this. The white plumes are just steam.

not true... look up TMI

If you mean "Three Mile Island" then yes, that also has cooling towers. I am not completely familiar with nuclear power codes, but they are probably not allowed to use freshwater for cooling due to a possibility of contamination.

As for fossil fuel power plants, they still have the same hyperbolic cooling towers if they are not located by natural water sources that can be used for cooling.

Trust me, I'm an engineer for the company that designed half of the fossil power plants in the United States.

dragon roll - eel and avocado - my favorite!

Good eye. I love that sushi restaurant. Its bring your own beer so me and my girlfriend always go with a bottle of wine in tow. Half of the sushi experience is in the presentation as well and they always know how to put it together.

I know for a fact it is a nuclear power plant.

the cooling tower of any nuclear power plant is always producing steam. nuclear power is GREEN power. it uses uranium 238 and some uranium 235 to heat water, it collects this water from rivers and oceans. that water is heated up very quickly to the uranium. the uranium is covered by lead which blocks radiation from escaping to the outside. its a giant dumb-bell for a small amount of uranium. because of the heat not being released from uranium, it forces water to touch it which is collected by a steam generator. the steam generator is what gives us electricity and from there its cooled to recycle and release as steam. there is no radiation exposed what so ever unless the water pumps didnt supply cooling, which then is called a meltdown and the uranium bursts the lead and exposes itself for everyone to see. all of this is very safe for the environment and TMI barely exposed anything but would love for them to re-enable building more power plants. how do i know this? i lived 20 miles from TMI and had a great teacher

if you ever wonder why nuclear bombs are dangerous, they use u-235 and plutonium which uses a slingshot method inside the bomb and exposes itself via TNT and radiation of course
