pin note to lock screen?

this is probably a dumb question, but cant figure it out. On a previous note (forgot which one, its been a while), I could stick a note to the lock screen, and it would stay on AOD. It was useful for random stuff like having a shopping list there instead of unlocking the phone, or more frequently having notes in a meeting sitting on your phone.

I can figure out how to do it. I see the option when I create a note while the phone is alrady off, but not how to do it from a preexisting note.
