Is there a way to set pinch to zoom to have no constraints?

On my old device, an iPhone, I could pinch to zoom and get as close as needed. With this s20 I get a bit of enlargement, bit it stops at a certain point.
For example sometimes photos I would like to get in really close to see text or other details. On iPhone I was able to do this.
Am I just missing a setting?

It depends on the app used to view the image.

You mentioned images, but one response asks about messaging app. Which app are you using?

I was assuming you where in a gallery app. Samsung's stock gallery app actually let's you zoom in pretty close - to the point where the image pixels are much bigger than the screen pixels and it just starts getting blurry. Google Photos doesn't let you zoom in quite as close.

are you talking about overriding website specific restrictions on zooming in on images?

Just overall everywhere.
For example on my iPhone I can pinch to zoom your avatar and it gets really big. If I let go of pinching it goes back to the size that it gets to on Android at the largest. But I can pinch it again and enlarge for a bit if I want.

But in chrome on the S20+ it does not get as close when pinching.

Using chrome on both iOS and Android.

I refuse to ever use Chrome.

Try Firefox, it lets me zoom in pretty tight.
