Pink/Black screen after flashing new rom

I tried to install a new rom on my Evo. I was in the recovery mode and within few seconds the screen went pink and black and the phone just turned itself off.

After it re-started, there was no new rom.

I freaked out and just left my phone alone! LOL

ha ha! I did not tried it again, I thought its going to mess up my phone.
But getting a pink screen, is it same as getting a blue screen on your laptop?

Maybe this could be causing it.
My last update was with 3.29.651.5 software

I was not able to download and install anything new after that.
I tried "unrooting" it so I can re-root it and that did not work either.

Now I am confused.

I can tether though, but even that stops every 5 minutes.

I would say first take a deep breath and calm down. Now can you give as much clear detail of what all you have done to your phone? The details we have the easier/faster everyone can help you.
How did you root your phone?(what method did you use)
