pioneer avic nex and aftermarket eqlizer

i know the deck has a good eq built in but when driving at times it would be great to have treble control at my fingertips from time to time .

so im looking at installing Clarion EQS755 equalizer.

problem is how would you connect this ?

the eq has
main in and aux in
so from my deck what line would i use to go to the main in on the eq

front pre outs or
rear pre outs
sub pre outs

my setup i have 2 amps , 1, 4 channel amp for my fronts and rears
1,mono amp for the sub

off my deck now i am useing front,rear rca preouts to the 4 channel amp
and the sub out for my mono amp


so i just connect the front out rca off the hu to the eq input
then run the 2 sets of rca to my 4 channel amp , front out and rear out. and leave the rear preouts disconnected on the back of the hu deck correct ?



also hoping i could make use of the sub volume on the eq and do away with my inline sub volume knob

would this be possible ?

yeah, you would use the front rca out of the headunit to the main in of the eq, it splits it up for you into the Fr, Rr, and SW

no, you simply run the sub out to your subwoofer amp, the eq will split up the input signal

yes the eq only needs the main input, it will do the splitting up within, therefore giving you control through the eq

ok thanks , guess for some reason im thinking i wont get as much base output useing front out from hu to the eq
as i would useing sub out from the hu direct to my sub amp.

but i do want to make use of the base volume knob on the eq.

well, you won't have less output with the bass, but imo the built in eq of the headunit is better and what I would use personally, if it's bass volume adjustment you are after, I'd add a bass control knob and ditch that eq........

ya understand totally , buyt with the eq connected my only question now is do i leave the low pass frequency set to 60hz or 90hz on the eq as per image above
